Versace Spring 2022 Ready-To-Wear

The SS22 Versace Runway Show totally broke the internet due to the gathering of Dua Lipa, Lourdes Leon, Gigi Hadid and Naomi Campbell. It almost crashed Versace’s website briefly, and the traffic to its live stream is just indescribable. Young people were lining up for in-person sightings outside the Milan runway venue. This proved that Donatella Versace knows exactly how to attract the world’s eyeballs, like she always does.

The show was a sparkling and shiny resurgence of Versace’s iconic fashion signatures, aimed straight to the heart of Gen Z, as the talented singer Dua Lipa which is one of the household names among the TikTok generation, opened the show in a black cut-out jacket and slit skirt with the decoration of Versace’s famous safety pins. Even though there are a bunch of amazing models that Gen Z are familiar with nowadays at the show, supermodel Naomi Campbell was no exception for the success of the show, and the sensation that it created. As a famous supermodel in the 90s, she gave impetus to the brand’s fame 30 years ago, and she’s here again in the house to show everyone how it’s done.

In between the show, Versace kept things youthful and lively. There are basketball jackets in maroon and basketball silks in their iconic medusa prints. Besides, sweater vests as one of the “it'' things right now have also appeared on their runway. They used their new La Greca print in various different tops such as handkerchief top, bikini top and as patchwork on blue jeans and denim dresses. For fans, of course there was no absence of their signature Baroque prints, coming in a set or just tops and bottoms. For people who are new to Versace, there was a selection of logo tees. The runway was filled with an amazing colour palette: black with a pop of Baroque print, bright neon colours continuing with some maroons. These clothes are perfect to be right at home in Miami.

Last but not least, Lipa closed the show in one of the most iconic elements in Versace, a hot pink chainmail dress. The show was praised by many parties from the fashion industry, and some even said that it’s one of the most successful shows that Versace has ever done.
